Windows Xp remembers only 400 folder settings. When that number is reached some settings are not retained any longer for other folders. You can change this to 8000 by adding this edit to the registry.
1. Copy the following into notepad.
QUOTE
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.0
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell]
"BagMRU Size"=dword:00001f40
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam]
"BagMRU Size"=dword:00001f40
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoSaveSettings"=dword:00000000
2. Save the file as folder8000.reg
3. Double click the file to import into your registry.
Now, your computer can remember more settings for back up.
